What are bond hours?

Every club or organization has a number of tasks that must be completed in order to function effectively. Some clubs will pay people to perform these tasks, others will use a combination of paid and volunteer staff. Wasaga Soccer is run %100 by volunteers which helps us maintain lower registration costs and family involvement. Bond hours essentially mean that each family must complete 5 hours or equivalent of volunteer time for Mini players Youth age 11-12 3 hours, and youth 13-18 2 hours. This requirement is a total per family not per registered player. Each family is required to do the amount designated by their youngest player. At the start of the season you will work out with your coach what tasks are available to complete your bond hours. Common tasks include coaching, working lines, a team manager, a bond hour rep, first aid, team snack, or even assisting with our picnic our equipment or registration. After you have completed your hours your Bond check will be destroyed. If you do not complete your hours your check will be cashed September 15th.

Can I request that my child be on the same team as his/her friend?

Please be advised that no requests will be accepted this season, unless there are extenuating circumstances which will be reviewed by the Board. We try very hard to balance teams based on players abilities. It is very likely you will know someone on the team. As the same age divisions, play on the same night, the issue of transportation is alleviated.
